How many Valvoline Restore and Protect oil changes have you done on this engine? This is an MB, and it requires 229.5 (or .6) oil, therefore I don't do full oil changes with V&P, I use it as an additive. Typically, 2 qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 added to 5.5 qts of a name brand 229.5 rated oil.
I hope Valvoline Restore and Protect FSC proves itself too. With how successful Valvoline Restore and Protect oil has been, I doubt Valvoline would put the Valvoline Restore and Protect label on something that isn’t on par with the oil. As far as Valvoline Restore and Protect, it told me to run Valvoline Restore and Protect in my Tacoma for 3 intervals then go with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or Mobil 1 ESP.
Valvoline doesn't make Restore and Protect in 10w40. Only 5w30, 5w20 and 0w20. They do make Valvoline Restore and Protect in 10w-40 actually, for the Australian market
Valvoline Restore and Protect (5w30) didn't seem to do much after 3 oil changes (around 12-14K miles on nothing but Valvoline Restore and Protect oil.) Changed the oil a few weeks ago and he has around 1200 miles on it (he had 2X longer trips last couple weeks) with a lot of highway miles. No oil loss. First time in a while.
