My very favorite Verdi operas of course blend drama with music, but as you go outside of the top ten I based my opinions on the music moreso than the drama. I Masnadieri is notable in that it has one of my favorite Verdi overtures, but I otherwise rank it quite low. Largely because one of the deaths at the end just doesn't gel with me.

Wagner's worst operas are probably his two early efforts - Die Feen and Das Liebesverbot. Besides Rienzi, which is so-so, the rest of his operas are nothing less than masterpieces.
The two above are the only Puccini operas I like without major reservations, though I find great musical virtues and artistic strength in all of them. I can enjoy most of the others with really great singer/actors, but that fact alone makes them impossible to rank.
